Screening Room
This is a clever idea, the movie is very different from anything you would expect it to be when it first starts. However it is kinda catchy and you just want to continue watching to find out what happens to the man with the mustache. All in all I thought this was a clever movie idea, even though it is something probably not very many people would be interested in. I think that YouTube's screening room is very helpful to those who want to write movies but don't have the connections it takes to get their movies to the big screen. Who knows this could be where our next big money movies come from. It is right from the views point.

WB tour
This tour was very different from the others. I liked the photo idea of a time line through history. Although the down side to that was you really didn't get to see as much of the studio as I would have liked. The Ellen video was actually pretty funny too and I did laugh. WB used to be my favorite thing, anytime that I went to the Mall of America that was one of the first stores I had to go to so for me this tour brought back many childhood memories and that I particularly enjoyed.

Weather Channel Tour
The weather channel studio was very interesting. I did like it a lot, however I think that the Times is still better. I noticed that in this tour they talked about all the environmental things that they have done with their construction, however I feel like they really aren't helping all that much. I mean think of all the electricity and cables they have running through the building. To me thats not very environmental unless they have a wind farm outside that they didn't talk about. Don't get me wrong all the HD effects and capacity look really nice but I'm not really sold on if it's worth it.

New York Times Tour
While watching the tour I was very interested in how much detail there is underneath the true exterior. I personally love to hear why something was built the way it was or what the designer had in mind for the buildings future. My favorite part of the tour would have to be the garden inside on the main level. I think that that itself would really be a breathe of fresh air to the workers of the Times. I know that the narrator said the building had an old time feel of the exterior but to me it looked very modern and clean. I also thought that the cafeteria area was very unique in that it was open for two levels but only had one level of sitting. All in all it was a very interesting tour and I like that I have now learned more info about another building in New York.
Recording Studio
When looking through all of the videos of recording studios the one thing that stuck out the most to me was how they gave the lobby and lounge areas an at home feel. I think that that would be very helpful to someone who was looking to record so that they don't become nervous or anxious when they are trying to focus on producing top of the line music. I know that for me the at home feel really calms my nerves.

State of Media
I think that this websites data was pretty close to what I expected, more news during daytime hours less at night for television, more global news for the internet, cell phone use is increasing. These were all things that seem normal to me. The only surprise that I saw was how little ipods are being used I assumed that they were still a growing market.

Ethics
I think that ethics are a very touchy subject and it is a subject that many care very strong opinions about. I found the sections about conflict of interests and privacy to be the most interesting. These two topics seem to be the most talked about in my eyes. I don't know how many times in school, work, even in families ethics are discussed and privacy or conflicts arise. No matter where you look everyone will have their own opinion, it just means you have to be respectful of others and be considerate of what they want.

Internet Safety
With playing these games for child internet safety they really do show the children what to look for. The only problem with this is that how many parents are really going to show their children these sites. Out of the websites that I looked at the only one that I didn't like was the AT&T one. It didn't seem to me that it would keep the kids occupied. The others seemed to be a little bit more interesting.

Censorship
I feel that censorship should not have to be done by the companies, as a society we should handle it on our own. However this is not that case, many parents do not look at the sites their children visit or much less care, which means that the companies are the ones looking out for those children. I think it is nice that stuff is censored just because I for one do not like to see a lot of curse words and foul things on sites when I am looking at them. So all in all I think that even though these companies aren't all being appreciated for what they do I think they are doing what they feel is right and should continue to do it.

Green Screen
Personally I am not a fan of Drew Carey's show. To me it is childish and doesn't actually demonstrate anything worth watching. The green screen works because it makes a solid background which is easier to manipulate with a computer to whatever you would like it to be. Actually it is very easy for anyone with a few computer skills to manipulate. So far I would have to say that out of movies that I know use a green screen transfomers or fast and furious would be my favorites although I know there are many more movies and shows that use it without anyone even realizing it.

The Great Train Robbery
This film seemed to have an overall excitement and suspense. I believe that when it would have first came out it would have been a very good movie, as for now we have advanced much further in the film world so this is a very 'boring' movie to me. I did however like the fact that when there are no voices or dialog it gives you the ability to make your own and give the story line the twist you want. Overall I would not like to be stuck watching these types of films on a daily basis.

Blockbuster? Redbox? Netflix?
Personally I don't use any of these sources. I like to support the home town video rental store first. However if they don't have the movie Im looking for on hand I switch over to Red box. They seem to be the cheapest route for me since I only rent one to three movies a month. If I were to rent more than that Netflix would for sure be the cheaper route and the route that I would take. I do also like the fact that with Netflix you can rent whole seasons of shows were as red box you cannot and that Netflix is also available right through your internet so you wouldn't even have to leave the house.

Old Time Radio
Old Time Radio, has it been completely forgotten? I think that even though I struggled to sit through it if I would have grown up 50 years earlier I would have greatly enjoyed it. I think that as we have grown with technology our minds have become less able to focus. Back when old time radio was popular TV's were not redly available thus it was a time to spend with the family and friends in front of a radio everyone picturing the scenario in a different way and evolving their imagination. Talking to my father and grandparents they all told me of their favorite shows and memories listening to them. This helped me to pick out which shows to listen to and try to relate to them. I haven't figured out how they were so excited about it but I attempted to listen and relate. This was quite the challenge. I wish I could say that I was able to make it through the show but I was unable to and thus I feel as though I too do not have a great imagination or patience and my mind is to technologically advanced to just listen to a show rather than watch it too.

iTunes vs. Napster???
I personally do not have an ipod or pay for music off of the internet, but for years I have used iTunes as my source of listening to music. I have never had a problem with it and iTunes has always been handy for me to share music with all of my friends and family. I personally do not think that I would switch to napster after reading that you can pay almost $10 a month just to rent music that just doesn't seem like you are saving any money. To me I just think that sticking with iTunes seems to be the best option and everyone that I know would agree.

Newspapers is it a thing of the past?
Right now with how technology is moving forward I would say newspapers, magazines and books are all headed for the same terrible death. Already many of your major newspapers are already available to read online along with magazines and books. I don't see any change in this even smaller newspapers are become available to the online reader. This is both a positive and a negative if you break it down. On a positive note, we are not destroying as many trees as we once were, and anywhere you are that the internet is available the news is only a click away. And on a negative note, how can these businesses stay afloat without having consumers pay to read them. Now books publishers have already figured that out by charging to download or buy a key to their books. Although I feel that this would be impossible for newspapers to do. Why you might ask? Well unless every news paper goes to a purchase or membership plan there is no way to stop people from just getting their news from another source. Is there really a way to charge for the use of newspaper that would be fair? To me it looks like these companies are going to need to live off of ad payments and hope that does the trick. I can honestly say that I have not picked up or paid for a newspaper in over 2 years, and somehow I still manage to keep caught up with the news off of the internet.

Ban Books?
I do not think that books should be banned. I feel that yes some books are inappropriate for certain age groups however I do not think that it is up to society or school systems to decide. Along with the fact that many of the books that have been banned are ridiculous do the school systems realize that the internet is much more of a risk. Even though most schools block certain sites at school there is no possible way that they can block every site that shows graphic or unsafe detail. All in all I do not think that books should be banned I think that they should let the parents decide what is right and wrong for their child.

Poor Richard!
The quote that I found the most interesting and liked the most was - Anger is never without reason but seldom a good one. This is completely true for so many things. People hold grudges or they become angry but when it comes down to it the reason is generally a poor one. This quote seems to describe so many people that have been in my life in the past. If they would have just thought their anger through many friendships could have been saved and relationships spared.
Does Internet isolate people from real social interactions? Or does it foster more social interaction?
I think that the internet plays a role in both. For instance we don't even have to leave our houses to find out anything thats happened. At the same time however the internet has helped with social interactions. For me if it weren't for the internet I would not have contact with much of my family who live in Europe or the ones in Las Vegas, Minnesota, Arizona and where ever else. Every situation, like internet, has it's positives and negatives, the real question is, do they out way each other?

Does this matter??
I think that even with the current advancements in media we still have the love of story telling, love of clear vivid language, and a respect of history. This to me is the way that older generations and younger generations still stay in touch. Although our technology is advancing at a rapid rate I think that many of the elder generations are still staying up to date on everything. For instance many of my family that are over 50 still have a facebook and both my sets of grandparents stay current on all the news through the internet. They may not utilize all of the apps that are available but they are still making an attempt. If we continue to remember the 3 fundamental aspects important our society will still remain in touch and media should not influence this.

Media Junkie
Media has never been a huge part of my life it wasn't until college that I even really got hooked on the whole facebook craze. Don't get me wrong I had Hotmail, MSN messenger and facebook in high school but I went on them maybe once a week. Partially because where I grew up we didn't have high speed internet or anything fancy until this past summer when I went home and had online classes that needed it. But even now I go to class come back turn on my computer check facebook and any homework I have and thats about it. My emails come directly to my phone so thats one less thing that I have to worry about checking. When I back home I don't even hardly touch my computer, I'm out on the farm where I want to be or at work doing my job. I can't stand now that my boss will even text me when he wants me to come into work. I just feel like sometimes we need to take a step back and look at the mess we are creating for the future. Now not to give the wrong impression I still waste a fair amount of time to my computer and phone use but it's not to the point where I couldn't live without either of them.
